OWN.
Can you guys think of stuff that needs to be inculded under the YA umbrella?
Oh FUCK YES. Can I interview you?
Agent Lover, how has Twilight effected your Young Adulthood?
Well, there's all the YA fantasy stuff (Harry Potter, Eragon, Twilight, etc), the chick-lit subgenre (all that Gossip Girl crap), and I think there are further ethnic subgenres. Are you going to look back in history a bit? It might be interesting to compare how book series compared to individual books (Maniac Magee, Shiloh - though both of those might be for a slightly younger audience).
I wanted to do contemporary examples of how YA addresses the changing social landscape (i.e. Perks of Being a Wallflower, Cut, Monster) as compared to how things were dealt with in classic examples (Anne of Green Gables, Little Women). I have a ton to think about but I'm such a fucking dweeb that I want to get into Twilight for srs.
Maybe see how much YA lit pushes teenage culture in a given direction, and how much it is pulled by pre-existing trends? I mean, most folks reading YA are just beyond the age of Judy Blume, and many of the messages couldn't be more different.
Heinlein wrote a slew of books and short stories that were specifically geared toward younger readers.
Hahahaha awesome. But Victorian Lit is awesome as well! Congrats though!!!!
How about the Uglies/Pretties/Specials series?

IM SO HAPPY I DONT HAVE TO DO VICTORIAN LIT.
