Should I learn how to play the banjo? [Y/Y]

I went over to a friend's house with the arrangement that I would clean his house if he gave me guitar lessons. After my hands started to cramp up, he told me to pick up his banjo to practice my strumming while my other hand rested. I picked up the finger plucking so quickly, he suggested I learn to play the banjo instead. Because seriously, everyone fucking plays the guitar these days.
