@jax: yes.. he's crated.. if he's not he shreds anything he can get his mouth/paws on.. he is still puppy... but hopefully by next year he'll be ok to sleep out.

If it's dry food, drizzle a little vegetable oil on it. A touch of peanut butter might also get his attention.

One of my friends mentioned feeding her dog before putting it to bed. I was confused: how exactly do you 'put' a dog to bed? Does your dog sleep in a cage or something? Why can't your dog just eat his food and go to bed on his own? Is your dog a puppy and not trained about where he should sleep?
