Regular or rechargeable batteries. Which is better?
Replies
I believe OMM is correct-it used to not be the case, but the advances in technology make rechargable batteries a better thing.
yes, for sure. environmentally a much better choice! i've stopped using the regular kind.
I stopped using the regular kind some time ago too. I'm trying to do the same at my workplace.
rechargeable totally, for enviromental, cost and convenience advantages
i'm actually using the sanyo eneloops (http://www.eneloop.info/) as i've found they have a very low level of discharge when not in use. the only problem is the work at a lower wattage so sometimes on certain devices (namely for me wii motes) your device will think the battery is lower than it really is.
@lady o: are those pretty easy to find? i've never seen them, but i'm definitely going somewhere with a lot of sun...
the only thing i own that doesn't use a built in battery (phone, ipod, etc.) are my wiimotes, and they're rocking the same 4 rechargables i bought 2 years ago.
if you still have a digital camera that doesn't come with a lithium ion you need to be DRAGGED INTO THE 21ST CENTURY
Well, I was just going by what the eneloops website says.
*My* digital camera can fly and make waffles. SO SUCK MY 21st CENTURY BALLZ.
Since NiCd rechargeables have completely disappeared and NiMH replaced them, rechargeables are pretty much the only way to go, except for in a few cases where alkalines are absolutely necessary such as your smoke detector or a camera flash.

I apologize in advance for the lameness of this topic.
