Do companies create complicated on-line application processes to weed out people who just can't be buggered to jump through all the hoops?

Haha... they also need dental and shot records. And a youtube video of you juggling at least 5 balls or 3 torches.
That, and to streamline things if they have an incompetent HR department. Let a computer do most of the work.
See this is why I want to make my living on the streets. Teaching Latin. Yeah. That's my plan.
@PT: all of those things would be easier than finding 5 people i know, but not in a friendly or business-type way.

@oimoi: might want to be careful with those amorous feelings. i hear that's what happened in pompeii.
@cocktails: who can provide accurate references besides friends, colleagues or family? Track down your nemesis?
It was less artistic and more visceral when they just called it The Octagon.

I should not have to list 5 references (which can't include friends, colleagues, or family) to send you my resume. I mean, what do you want, the name and number of my 4th grade teacher?
and you don't want her number, she was a hateful person.
