Saw Dark Knight last night, and while I did enjoy it, the best part may just have been the Watchmen preview.

I'm really excited for it, and the preview was great. They nailed the look just right on everyone but Ozymandius. But I was only a tiny bit worried when I heard an interview with Zack Snyder and he admitted that he's not sticking to the script so much as with the character "concept". Um.
It's full of awesome. The layering of the stories, the interaction between the images and the dialog... I appreciated it more on the re-read. But the preview! It was like the frames were moving... Like Sin City, they're really paying attention to recreating the frames.
It makes me nervous.
The look is pitch perfect (again, except for Ozymandias) but all the slow-mo shows that the Hollywoodization of this property is in full effect.
@CM: I was worried, but when I saw the preview I felt reassured - it looks so true to the art that they MUST be true to the text... Right? Right? Damn, now I'm worried again.
@FFS: I just don't know. I'm looking forward to it, but there's more than a little trepidation.
I've not read the book in a long time, but it's being delivered to me soon.
As for The Dark Knight: I think everybody did a great job, except the titular Knight. Christian Bale was not given enough to do, or was simply not good in what he did do. Also, his love interest…same story.
I really enjoyed The Dark Knight. (I saw it yesterday.)
The Watchmen looks awesome.
I actually just finished reading the book. I was pretty blown away. I have no clue how they'll do it justice with the movie. I mean Sin City and 300 are pretty straight forward stories. Hell, 300 was so straight forward they had to beef it up with some modern day political bullshit. But Watchmen is extremely nuanced. I guess we'll see.
the only thing that's really bugging me is. . .if the costumes are homemade. . why are they all so fucking shiny??
i'm reading it the second time now
fuck i'm picking up on so much shit i missed the first read through
TWIGBy - ditto. Although the Marooned tale is bugging me a bit this time around. Possibly because I know how it ends.
Have we all forgotten 'Watchmen' is being directed by the cat behind '300'? It's gonna be the best unintentional comedy of the year!
I have very low expectations. I expect it will look gorgeous, but that says nothing about the acting, the dialogue, or how they expect to pull off such a complex, multi-layered story in that time frame.
I'd like to be wrong, I really would...
It can't be a good omen that the trailer used the Smashing Pumpkins song from one of the Schumacher Bat-flicks.

What, no Watchmen fans? C'mon, come forward! I know you're out there.
