In this photo, taken by the Hubble telescope over a period of about 4 months (11.3 days total exposure time), there are over 10,000 identifiable galaxies.
This image represents about 1/13000000 of the sky. To get some perspective, cut out a piece of paper that is slightly less than 1mm square, place it on the tip of your finger and hold your arm out towards the sky. That's the size of this picture.
