Google just launched streetview in Australia, so I am looking up interesting things.

Streetview creeps me out hardcore. I don't like being that easily googlable.
@sven, It's never really bothered me that much. If you punch my real name in to google I pretty much own the first couple of pages. Except for some actor who's been muscling in on my action lately. The bastard.
I just don't like it. I didn't mind having like satellite view of my place but it weirds me out that you can see my actual house with our cars and our trash cans ever present on the sidewalk.
You really can't miss a car with ten million cameras on top of it. I just barricaded my street.

OMG THE BIG MERINO.
If I had a dollar for every time I've been there, I could buy you all ice cream. It's seriously the most random thing ever.
Be sure to check out the Big Pineapple (although I am not sure they will have it)
Have you been to the Big Merino recently?
Year before last, they moved it from the old place it was at, to the new service centre overlooking the bypass. Like, literally picked it up, put it on the back of a flatbed truck, and dragged it three hundred metres up the road. That would have been an awesome thing to see.
I know! They haven't even finished putting it properly back together. I think some of the concrete fell off and they haven't replaced it yet, the giant merino has some hollow legs still. (I've only seen it at the new service center)
Also on my list of favourites: the giant avocado and the giant prawn. OH AND THE PETROL STATION THAT LOOKS LIKE AYERS ROCK!
Also, the Big Pineapple - http://tinyurl.com/6y4sxj
I'm pretty amazed by the extent of the coverage they've got up now. My home town (about an hour's drive south of the big merino) is tiny, but they've got photos of pretty much all the streets. Although sadly they don't have anything from Darwin yet.
I want to make up a list of streetview pictures of all the big things in Australia. But a lot of them are far enough away from roads to make it difficult. I spent, like, an hour earlier tonight trying to find the Big Ant.
That's really crazy!!! I got excited because you can finally zoom in close enough to see houses on Google from my mini home town. This has made me so excited, I'm glad you made this conversation! Like, I can even see the corner with all the tranny hookers by my flat- I am so delighted!
nice... last night I was checking out microsoft's bird-view near my house... the apartments a block down look like they came from Galaga.
@art, that reminded me that a friend of mine just moved in to a new flat not very far away from a brothel near Sydney Uni. So I went and looked it up, and they've totally caught a car leaving via the discrete rear entrance. Winner! http://tinyurl.com/5gaezr
Hahahahahaaha. Sparky, that is awesome. Like, actually awesome. I just looked up this escort service near where I worked that's sign says "Ladies For Gentlemen: Parking In The Rear" and it most definitely has it. I am so happy.
Two more before I finally go to bed. The Australian Centre For The Moving Image in Melbourne - http://tinyurl.com/6kbgmf
And the most awesome van ever outside Flinders St Station. Seriously, where can I get one of these? http://tinyurl.com/6f7ry2
