Mary Worth is the most exciting comic everrrrr

Now this sounds interesting.

An intervention staged by Mary and her friends drove Aldo to returning to finding comfort in alcohol, which led to his death in a drunk driving accident where he drove off a cliff." -wikipedia

Yeah, when the strip changed hands it became a lot more self-conscious... the stalker thing was gold 'cause a lot of people joked that Mary meddles people to death anyway, so this was a literal illustration of it. Especially how little Mary cared, considering.

I'm thinking this recent run of strips where nothing happens except shopping and paying bills and thinking about paying bills is also a little self-conscious riff on how dull these people's lives are shown as a whole.

Wow, well I always thought they would be better if you followed them and knew what was going on. But probably not.
