I hate that leases here always start in August. It is the WORST time to move.

I just want to take an ice bath right now. That sounds heavenly.

Dude, hire movers already. Need a name or two?

It's this stupid last-minute moving stuff that happened that is the problem. Basically, my friends are coming over to help me pack, then we're loading up a couple of storage pod things which will have to go to storage for two weeks, and then they'll deliver them to my new place and I have hired movers for the unloading of the storage units. It's been this giant last-minute mess. Part of the problem is that I have to store stuff and can't just move to my new place right away. I soooooo wish I could just move in on Monday or something, but the place won't be ready.

I have two herniated discs in my lower back, and I think by the end of this, I am going to probably be totally screwed with that. I'm booking an acupuncture appointment tomorrow morning.

I just hope that I'm not completely useless when I go to New York next week to help my sister get ready for her wedding.

AUGUST 14, COULD YOU JUST BE HERE ALREADY?

Good heavens! Herniated discs are serious business. You probably need to see an actual doctor about that. And you DEFINITELY need to stop carrying things around. My father helped me move once while he had a similar issue, and he aggravated it... he ended up spending over three months unable to leave the house. This is really a thing you probably need to take as seriously as possible.

I have had the herniated discs for six years now. That happened thanks to a hit-and-run accident. I worked in a furniture store for a while with them, so I can lift and know the right way to do it. The problem is that my back gave out like a month ago and I just got over the injury. I definitely had PLANNED to hire movers for the entire thing, but that just can't happen now. I'm paying some of my friends to help me load in, and they know about my back. I'm just still not sure who all is really coming for the load-in to the storage units, so I definitely will have to do SOME of the lifting. I got a dolly though, so that should help at least a little bit.

I wound up taking a muscle relaxer before bed last night which helped, but has left me sleepy all day today, which is BAD. I called my acupuncturist, and she's going to work me in on Monday or Tuesday.

My life is just phone call after phone call and non-stop packing right now.

A family who I babysit for (and have for three years) is out of town, and they'd offered to let me stay at their house before, so I called and they're going to let me stay at their place during my homeless period. I'm actually going to go stay over there tonight because it was REALLY hard to sleep with boxes all over my room last night when all I really wanted to do was just get up and keep packing more and more and more.

I have more friends coming over in the next hour to help pack. I HAVE WAY TOO MUCH STUFF! Too bad I love it all.

Ah, okay -- this is a long-term thing. I was thinking it was some kind of untreated injury.

(Well, not "okay". You know. My sympathies!)
