I have returned from the frigid north to the warm, humid bosom of DC! To celebrate, let's list things about other GTIers that we think are deeply awesome and kind of make us wanna be like them.

For instance, the way Erica bakes and sews and does all these quaint-yet-cool crafty things (and also runs marathons on the side!) that make her like the super cool aunt you never had but always wanted to grow up to be like.

Valkyrie was just missing you.

And the way Mike can apparently look hot when he is passed out? Ok, mostly the fact that he will actually hang out with me if he has free time if I call up and whine.

@Khaaaaansumating: I know, it was very timely!

Speaking of Val, I think her job is pretty awesome. Also the way she manages to be good-humored and kind and sweet without being at all cloying, but rather vivacious and feisty. And she has a smile that I've always envied.

Carlo can talk about his own awesomeness. I mostly envy his boots.

I have talked far too much of Jubilee's hair and makeup prowess, but yeah, that. She just always manages to look breezily gorge, even when trashed. That's skill right there.

Michelle just seems to be a ball of awesomeness and over-achieving. She has incredible drive and a great humanitarian heart coupled with determined optimism of the best kind.

I am not sure I can list all of Aleigh's awesomeness, 'cause I pretty much admire her on every level. She is an enthusiastic, adorable but non-preachy vegan (who also knows how to cook), and she's also self-motivated and seems successful in her artistic and career undertakings, and just always delightful, again, without being at all sugary about it. She is both hip and sweet, a combination that's hard to pull off when so often it's acerbic wit and disdain that's encouraged. Also, I envy her dress sense. (I am a simple creature.)

I will return to list more.

Salomea: Thank you for doing such a positive thread. There has been a plethora of anonymous spiteful threads recently so this is a welcome change.

I wish I could be like catlady who is taking the plunge to become a true expatriate. I truly admire that about her.

Aw, thank you, my dear.

I'm sad because right now it is way too fucking hot to bake OR sew.

valkyrie blondhaar said, (162 days ago)

Hi, baby! I missed you.

Salomea said, (161 days ago)

I missed everybody! I shall continue this thread even if no one reads it.

Cordula de Prey/Annabel Lee is so whimsical and fey and wee and quaint and fey and ethereal and just... fey. In the good sense, the non-shmaltzy fairy sense. She and Aleigh are kind of tied for the title of Most Adorable Girl Ever, and she and Ghostie are tied for Most Nymphlike in the Romantic-Victorian-Spidery-Attic Way. Also, Cordula de Prey is kind of like a Roald Dahl novel come to life, don't you think?

Um, I need some menz here. I am so crap at giving compliments to boys who are not gay and/or 18 and whom I love in motherly ways. :-( I will try though.

Chrome Raven said, (161 days ago)

I find it hard to pick just one thing about the people I like on here... so I have stayed away from your thread. Sorry.

Salomea said, (161 days ago)

That's all right, Raven! But I never said you had to limit it to one thing. :-)

Chrome Raven said, (161 days ago)

Well then since there's no limit...:

I love Val, because she is awesome, has one of my dream jobs and seems surprised every time she remembers I'm into Archeology.

I love A-love, because of Polaroid apocalypse, amongst many other things.

I bro-love Johnny, Combustie, and TWIGBy because I don't feel like a goon making nerd jokes in their threads.

I love Artschooled, Capri, Eva, and probably a couple others I'm forgetting because they're always seeming so bright and sunny to me.

also: everyone on my team is loved for entertaining me through the long nights of 3rd shift workin.

valkyrie blondhaar said, (159 days ago)

@Chrome Raven: I know you're in archaeology NOW! I just didn't for a little while.
