Actually, there are a couple of locals that I met who are constantly tweeting. They're pretty awesome. I think they'd fit in around here.

Cool. I personally find twitter to be kind of annoying, but it probably would be cool in SF or in a dense metro area if you were out and about much.
My tweets would look something like this:
I'm in my office working on my dissertation.
I'm at home not working on my dissertation.
I'm eating and thinking I should be working on my dissertation.
