I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Is there anything you can do to make sure it will happen? Like being nicer to Mom and Dad in some way that you aren't already?

oh, it's not really to do with their involvement- i'm just sceptical about the whole process. for example, landlords need a license to let 3 people who are unrelated live together... and the first flat we enquired about didn't have one of those licenses. so that's off.
plus, my parents (understandably) have quite a strict budget they want to stick to. i'm definitely not spoilt so they don't want to hand great accommodation to me on a plate, so to speak.
i currently have no job to pay for rent on my own, you see.
two of chris's friends who i get on spectacularly with (both male) are eager to have me on board. so we're looking at 3-bedroom flats together.
