wow.
really?
worst case sceneario: We just go along with our lives and pretend it doesn't exist. Like Highlander 2.
I told Menda about this just now. She outlined a nightmare scenario:
"Cowboy Bebop, starring Dane Cook as Spike Spiegel."
This is a very close-to-heart series to so many people that they are undoubtedly going to make this movie suck. I'm not pleased at all and I'm ready to kill.
What are you talking about? They've already released the only Cowboy Bebop movie they're gonna make.
(see how easy that is?)
(I'm having a really hard time keeping this arguement up without wanting to cry)
wait, what?
if that is really a series, you guys got any extra pitchforks or torches?

Some hardcore nerds must have gotten there before we even thought of a plan
Question: Why will a live action Cowboy Bebop movie suck?
Answer: The live action Lupin III movie. With spaceships.
I don't know... They'd really have to work hard to find people to play the main characters. If they screw up on just one, JUST ONE!, that could ruin it for me...
Just guessing here...
John Krasinski as Spike Spiegel
Maggie Gyllenhall as Faye Valentine
Tom Selleck as Jet Black
Abigail Breslin as Ed
CGI "Scooby Doo" Ein
Jude Law as Viscious
John Krasinski as Spike - Uh, no. Well...maybe. He needs more hair...hehe.
Maggie Gyllenhall as Faye - As much as I love her...Can she be sassy enough?
Tom Selleck as Jet - I could see that. But he'd have to beef it up...
Abigail Breslin as Ed - Hell yeah. I could see that.
Jude Law as Viscious - Again, hell yeah.
Lisa Kudrow as Julia
Owen Wilson as Andy
John Rhys-Davies as the floating egg-shaped guy I forget
These aren't my picks, they're just guesses on casting. My picks are They Don't Fucking Do It....

How about him as Spike? Too much to ask for?
Eh i refuse to have a fanboy knee jerk reaction to this because so many "adaptations" i thought wouldn't work have worked recetly.
However I hold reservation mainly because it'd be difficult to do a "proper" Bebop movie. The Vicious Story arch would be the most logical choice but it'd also be the most boring and to be honest doesn't engage the other characters at all other than Spike.
It'd be pretty much impossible to stay faithful to the anime unless you simply reshoot "knocking at heaven's door" mainly because bebop's story is extremely non linear (probably the best aspect of the show.)
also i'm concerned on how they'd do Ed but really i doubt a "faithful" translation could be done. Her age is either going to be upped or removed from the movie entirely

“I have such an enormous admiration for its creators, that our first and foremost concern is going to be a real degree of faithfulness to the tone of the movie, to the mix of genres, and so on and so forth,” he says.
