I am the same way if you replace "fear of water" with "highly picky eater"
If I can't cook (well) for someone that is someone who doesn't need to be in muh life.

You mean, like, in lakes? Or just, like, a glass of water? Because I don't think I could date someone who was afraid of a glass of water. Who knows what other beverages she might fear? Other than that, though, I'm not afraid of water -- but also I don't spend much time in anything larger than a bathtub. (And even then, I take showers.) So I think I could probably date someone who was afraid of water, as long as it didn't extend to drinking something or washing themselves. Nobody should be afraid to bathe.
80% of my hobbies involve and are based on water. I can't bring someone into my life if they are afraid of the very thing I love.
