California is HANDS FREE!
And much safer now, as the following video shows us:

@FiZ: A speakerphone is considered hands-free under the new law. So is a wired headset (as long as it doesn't cover both ears). You do not need a bluetooth device.
Is your sister under 18? No one under 18 can talk on a mobile phone while driving under the new law, hands-free or otherwise.
Oops, I meant girlfriend, not sister. Anyway, if she got a ticket for using her speakerphone and was not holding the phone up to her ear, then she should fight it.
BTW - you are allowed to hold your phone to dial, or even txt (if you're over 18). The only way you should ever get a ticket with this new law is if you are holding your phone up to your ear.

As much as I love this video, I hate the new law for one reason- my girlfriend got a ticket for talking to me with her cell on speakerphone. She wasn't even holding the phone, but they gave her a ticket because she wasn't using a bluetooth adapter.
