it's his trademark
i wasn't a fan of Ozymandias' costume until i saw the pictures of it for the action figure. that's when it clicked for me.
@Hot_Rod: You know, though, I don't remember there being too much damn slo-mo on Dawn of the Dead.
I think American action-movie directors need to get two things through their thick heads:
1. Fights look better when we can actually see people fighting. Quick cuts and extreme zooms don't do anyone any favors.
2. A little goes a long way when it comes to slo-mo. And using slow motion at all is practically a tired cliche at this point anyway.
(Actually, there's a third thing, though I can't tell if Watchmen will suffer from it: stop having composers constantly beating us over the head with what we should be feeling with the musical score. It's supposed to be there to enhance emotion, not dictate it.)
i think the quick cut fight from "batman begins" works
that said, it's all about context and also, like, not doing it ALL THE TIME
@TWIGBy: This is a rare point where I disagree with you. I thought the fight direction on the was the weakest part of Batman Begins (with the exception of the fights during training).
Okay, KATIE HOLMES was the weakest part of Batman Begins. But the fights as Batman could have been more clearly choreographed and directed.
fyi, the trailer is now up, i think probably pretty permanently on apple.com

Hey, thanks.
Aside from Ozymandias, the look is pretty much perfect. I will see this unless the reviews are glaringly bad.
HOWEVER: already with the fucking excessive slow-mo?
