I don't want to share links or name names yet because I'm going to do my own emailing first. But I've been published in a local magazine and no credit was given.

Now I know this had to be on the band managers part because a magazine knows way better than to post a picture with no credit, so it had to be omitted. 3 pictures in a feature for a band and no mention of me.

:( Congrats. I'm sorry it looks like the band manager is a dirty hooker.

Here's hoping it'll get worked out, and the band manager gets his.

Every time they publish your picture, whether you had an agreement or not, without your byline (photo by...), serve a DMCA take down notice.

It's epidemic in entertainment photography. It's really not that hard to say "Photo Credit: Manuel" in the article. They're required to do that in the newspaper. They do that in magazines. Just because independent music venues and magazines are run by people so retarded they're not even allowed to TOUCH the short bus doesn't mean they get to steal your work.

Don't work with people like that. Serve a DMCA takedown notice and demand an apology.

If it's an online magazine and they don't amend the article, serve a DMCA takedown notice to their host's upstream provider. They'll find themselves offline very quickly or they'll take your photos down or take the time to credit you.

It's even easier with Youtube. If your photo is in their video, it's just an email to the Youtube admin to get the whole video yanked from the site.
