sarah- popular as in chart artists? in that case, it's quite similar to the US charts- a lot of r&b and stuff. but there's also tons of indie bands (whether good or not) that are doing reeeeeally well right now. the kooks- who were big a few years ago- have just returned, for example.
in terms of more 'underground' bands- noah & the whale are making waves at the moment, as are alex turner from arctic monkeys' side project the last shadow puppets. cajun dance party are great too, and finally getting the recognition they deserve.
and if you mean GLASWEGIAN bands, some of my favourites are twin atlantic, arca felix, john b. mckenna, we are the physics and the down & outs. any more info you need, just ask!
They've been distributing the single here as a promo for converse. I have had it sitting on my desk for a few weeks but I haven't listened to it, because it was given to me by a bunch of dicky promotions guys who had to take our photo with it to prove they gave it to us and i hate that.
