I may steal some part of it.

Currently? Treadmill for 20 mins a day. And randomly skating in my neighbourhood.

mamanese said, (47 days ago)

I lift weights for 10 minutes, then run 2 miles, then 10 minutes of various abs exercises.

Salomea said, (47 days ago)

Um, sometimes I try to do 10 mins of exercise a day. That usually ends up being every other day, or 20 mins 3 times a week if I am good, but lately I am losing motivation to do even that. And it's mostly just ab exercises and kicks and lunges except there's something wrong with my knee so I've been only doing abs stuff for the last week.

I am terrible at this stuff though. As shoddy as my current "regime" is, it's better than what I had going earlier, which was basically nothing at all.

Hm. So far, my workouts are way more hardcore. Actually, my workout is pretty close to mamanese's, though.

REALLY, I JUST WANT SOME FUN NEW THINGS TO DO. FOR NO MONIES.

beccah. said, (47 days ago)

download videos?

erica said, (47 days ago)

I just run, basically. Sometimes fast. More often slow. I try to do yoga once a week at a class. I'm also doing that 100 pushups thing.

erica said, (47 days ago)

Aren't there a lot of workout video podcasts?

MUPaully said, (47 days ago)

Eating better/Wii Fit.

Neither of which will probably help you in the "no monies" category, sadly.

My new job is canvassing. So I walk through neighborhoods for 5 hours a day every day.

That's what I do. It works. It helped me lose 46 pounds last year between July and January. (Weight: 196 on 7/27/07 => 150 on 12/31/01 => 150 today).

My 2 mile run time is faster by more than 9 minutes now. On Tuesday, I did a workout with 100 pullups, 100 pushups, 100 situps, and 100 squats. I couldn't have finished that workout when I started and I did it on Tuesday 5 minutes faster than I'd even partially done it before.

Really, it's good stuff. Doesn't require any monetary outlay, all the workouts are open source. Good solid functional fitness. I've never had results like this, or even close to this, on anything else I ever tried (even when I was bicycling 300 miles a week, I didn't have this level of fitness).

I do a variety of things: play squash, lift weights (though not with the regularity I should), do Pilates, run/walk, and square dance (go ahead and laugh, but an hour of vigorous square dancing burns 400-800 calories, and you dance about five miles over the course of an evening). I was thinking of getting back into swimming, but I might want to hit the weight room first before I start swimming again.

I'm getting back into shape. It's not been easy. I had back problems over the course of last year, and did a mini-balloon as a result, hitting about 168-9. I'm now down to about 158, and I'd like to hit 155 with more muscle definition before the summer is over. (Again, another argument for the weight room.)

omg, I just stared doing zumba classes. don't scoff, although it looks totally lame, it's HARD!

other than zumba, I do pilates, arc trainer and elliptical.

Sarah Les Pantyhose said, (47 days ago)

I don't. and hence I'm not in any kind of good shape. But once I fix my bike I'll be biking 5-10 miles a day again. Hopefully.

L said, (47 days ago)

i don't. i just ride bike roughly 100 miles a week and work an incredibly physically demanding job.

Linda Busser said, (47 days ago)

try not to lift any weights or you will look like a man. the best thing to do is 2000 thousand crunches every morning.

Linda Busser said, (47 days ago)

wii fit and dance dance revolution are also proven techniques used by olympic gymnasts everywhere

Namrok said, (47 days ago)

An hour of tae kwon do three times a week. About 40 minutes of weight lifting twice a week. I bike 30 miles once a week. I do a fuckton of crunches on an exercise ball about 2 or 3 times a week. I get about an hour in on punching bags about once a month now, down from once a week. A social life and the inability of my body to keep up are getting in the way :P

I have a gym phobia... At home I do yoga, pilates, and all my old ballet exercises that I can remember. I try to do about 45 minutes of this stuff, 4 or 5 times a week. Sometimes I dance wildly about the living room when no one is watching. Jump on the bed. Go for long, brisk walks in hilly places. Hula hoop! I swim whenever the chance arises.

I doubt that I'll ever have any visible muscley bits, or be super "strong", but I feel very light, springy and healthy.

thejoyofsound said, (47 days ago)

I walk 3-5mph for 30 minutes, two times a day, five days a week. On the other two days, I walk 3-5mph for 30 minutes just one time and strength train using a DVD for about 45-50 minutes.

At least, that's what I WAS doing until I got a super bad flu or cold thing that lasted for about a week. Now I'm just being a lazy jerk but plan on starting up again on Monday.

TAMSFKAK said, (47 days ago)

I bike. A lot.

strangerbox said, (47 days ago)

i'm pretty fuckin lazy these days. my exercise used to be walking, but now that i don't live downtown i'm not as interested in going for walks. but i did just order an exercise ball from amazon. it comes with a dvd, so i suppose i'll take advantage of that. i miss the rock-hard abs i had in high school and college.

DarylZero said, (46 days ago)

I do 30 min. on the treadmill followed by lifting weights and stomach crunches three times a week. The weight loss is slow but steady. I've never had rock hard abs like SB but, I'd like to get to as close as possible to that. Of course having my gym be two blocks away helps to cut down on my excuses not to go.
