We just packed our bed, so tonight is the first night we'll be sleeping on an air mattress. This will last for at least the next 6 days of travel, but may last for several months while we look for a new place in Austin. Sweet Fancy Moses, what have I done?

Traded one great city for another. And also, nice mild weather for a summer of humidity.

You know you'll buy a bed as soon as you get here, and you kicked me out of YOUR HOUSE (which I suspect you'll never leave, especially once the economy actually tanks).

So... then, to answer your question: you've done whatever you've wanted to do. Not exactly, but precisely.

You're moving away from the Bay area right as I'm about to move there? Was it something I said?

Air mattresses are the vagabond wanderlust of the residentially challenged.

Plus it's fun to jump on them and send the other person flying...

We are officially fucking packed. Last thing to go was the cable modem. Nothing but camping gear and dogs left.

Travel is fun! Hope your air mattress retains it's air retaining properties. mine seem to develop slow leaks **wait** cancel that! - knock wood - jinx jinx! Your mattress will cradle you in comfort for many soundly sleeping years

When I moved to Vancouver I slept on the hardwood floor of my bedroom [with only some blankets and a comforter underneath me] for two months before I went and got a bed.
