Quick little tribute to Mr. Carlin
Replies
i remember watching this in his latest HBO special and thinking, "ok, he's old...and some of it's a little clunky"
but overall, i just kept thinking to myself "i can only hope that when i'm that age, i'm that inciteful, funny, and observant."
this Modern Man bit is awesome...i was always impressed with his ability to memorize snappy, alliterate rants.
after my grandfather died, i regretted that we never sat down and watched George Carlin together.
I just heard about this. Holy fuck. I'm glad it was natural causes though, for a change. He lived a decent long life. I would've been seriously depressed if another celebrity died in a puddle of his own vomit this decade.
@ Garak - seriously dude...this thing is THREE MINUTES LONG...he pauses a few times for applause, but most of time he's just chugging along.
agreed, Pagne
i remember thinking when i watched his latest special, 'wow, he's old - and lookin' it.'
i have this thing about thinking about the celebs/artists i really like, and knowing there's gonna come "that day"...
i do have to sort of go to the Denis Leary of it all, and his whole ..."and we can't even get Bon Jovi on a plane"...
only swap them out, and put in, oh, i dunno....Nicole Richie? Denise Richards? Dick Cheney? take your pick.
Carlos Mencia is one of those people/entertainers where it's like...i don't even need to see his act. the snippets i see on commercials are enough to make me know i'd absolutely hate him.
i officially don't get why that guy is supposedly funny.
...yeah, and Dave Chapelle is still MIA, too.
Fuck you, Carlos (Ned).

Let's celebrate his career...post your favorite bit if you can find it.
