Is anyone else as excited for WANTED to come out on Friday as I am?

i havent, i actually havent read comics since i was a kid, but with the influx of ridiculously cool comic and graphic novel based movies that have come out over the past few years, i might.
seen it on buses. dunno what it's about. jolie does pretty good with action movies, though, so I trust it.
i dont know much either, i know its something about a crazy league of assassins with some sort of special powers.
as long as i get to see those lips and some badass guns it's 10 bucks well spent.
@Xop: Yeah it is, but it's not a well known one. The liberties they took with the movie makes it less of a comic book movie. And by the way, the comic was fucking badass.
Watch the Russian trailer.

ok.
Wanted was a 6 issue limited run with a weird funny little story to tell. It was short, in your face, told its story to the point, then it left. The problem I find with comic movies is that since their source material is this huge catalog of history/issues it's hard to really focus on what story to tell because there's no one real defining (big screen watchable) story to tell that isn't bogged down by establishing the rich history and important components of their world. I feel that problem wouldn't exist for this title because if its brevity.
Also Mark Millar (the comic's writer) is pretty insane.
Oh also, it's being directed by this Russian guy who did these 2 movies Night watch and Day Watch which the stories are meh, but it's visually gorgeous and engaging. There is no doubt in my mind that if the scriptwriters have managed to mangle the IP, then at least there will be some new cool shit to be seen.
Shoot 'Em Up is definitely a dumb action movie. It's basically one of those Bugs Bunny/Elmer Fudd cartoons, but with Clive Owen as Bugs and Paul Giamatti as Elmer.
@danny and Teejay - shoot em up was like a spoof of an action movie, with an action movie attached. it was actually really fun and a good watch.
@teejay - oh shit i didnt realize that the same director as Nightwatch was doing it. now i have to see it. I thought the way they did some of the subtitling in those movies was ingenious and really added to the movie. and yes you are correct they were beautiful.

Oh hell yeah. Have you read the comic?
