Sure, I agree, "what happened" was lame and mean and people can suck it. But what about the rest of us? What about the fun times -- the GOOD times. Remember those? Also, it's a fucking website. But fine, you do that.

I don't want or need negative, childish influences in my life. I also don't think I should let the internet or people I don't know on it play a part in affecting my mood. I think I need to focus on spending more time with the people I know and love in real life. I need to stop wasting time online and go out and do things, and meet new people in the old fashion human interaction way.

Personally I don't know why people feel the need to be cunts to complete strangers, under the cloak (or distance of the internet.) If you need a screen to emotionally beat others down for no reason, there must be something wrong with you. I don't see anything playful or funny with the way this person goes about expressing themselves sometimes. I often wonder why this sort of persona is even desirable. I will bitch to others (who are my friends and perfectly righteous) about how someone comes off online and they will be all, "Oh, but he/she is a TOTAL SWEETHEART in person." I don't give two shits. How you project yourself here, is just an extension of how much of a cunt you really are. What you WISH you could get away with saying in "real life" but are too 'cute' or worried about how it would affect you, to get away with it and say it to someone's face.
That said, don't let the internet bullies affect you. Just print their picture out and throw darts at it in the privacy of your own home. Revel in the fact that you don't need a mask, or a fake persona, or an attitude issue, cutting down others where they will see it just to be cool, to be happy.

I know exactly how you feel. EXACTLY!!! don't feel bad about your choice. Most people who come to these places and do that stuff and are praised for it have SO MANY problems and it is only making it more obvious.

There are clearly two-sides to this website. The adult one, and the 7th grade lunchroom one. Personally, I find it pretty easy to stay on my side by steering clear of such groundbreaking topics as "I think this site is boring, so I'm going to post a topic about it" or "The cute guy at Starbucks would be so hot if he didn't work at Starbucks" or "I told the fat person at my job today that they eat too much".

@N0mi that was really sweet. Thanks it meant a lot to me. Made me want to stick around for the cool folk like you! But,alas I think this is something I need to do for myself as well. Stop relying on the internet so much. We are both taking a leave of absence. So we may be back eventually.
