where to even begin with this question.
most of them. because a good 85% of what *did* get attention wasn't *really* metal, not even by 80s standpoints.

I think Metal Church needed more attention. I think they only really had one good album, but all of their videos were hilarious.

Certainly Metal Church. And Girlschool, Mercyful Fate/King Diamond, Razor, Blitzkrieg, Voivod, Venom, Bathory, Hellhammer, Helloween, Running Wild, Bolt Thrower, Napalm Death, Carcass, Angel Witch, Destruction, Kreator, Coroner, Sodom, Diamond Head, Candlemass, Pagan Altar, Death... this could take all day, really.
