You've got to get used to people rubbing your head. I've found that telling people who think it's "good luck", that the last person to rub your head was in a fatal car accident works.
That said, I shave my head every summer.

Do you have enough hair that shaving your head will not cause you to get a sunburn? I mean that seriously, not snidely. If so then yeah, go for it.

With the humidity- I would shave it. Not skin bald, unless you use sunscreen.
