Dear GT folks (I love you all, BUT)
I write a topic with the heading 'I think the police are in my building' and the response I get is a Sting joke. Not that I have anything against Sting jokes, but to be honest I'm a little bit bummed that no one checked to find out if I was being arrested or something. As it was, there weren't police in the building but firemen, because some people were stuck in the elevator. (they are ok)
The next time I think I'm going to be arrested by the carabinieri for visa infractions, I'm not coming to you guys.

(if you don't know what I'm talking about when I say Napoli's trash issues)
but I don't know you, and I don't know where you are in the world. nor do I know your situation on life.
so how on earth would I come to the rescue?

Grandmother screaming at the wall...
No, I'm living in Rome right now, but I was down around Naples this weekend, and yeah, it's pretty incredible. You can smell the garbage on the breeze, even well out of the city. It's been a problem for a while, and everyone's been saying that if they didn't fix it by this summer, when Napoli gets hot, it would get ugly.
this is a better summary of the situation generally in English: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7423245.stm
That's probably a good thing. Internet people are the last ones you'd want to ask to help solve your problems.
@corey -- actually, I've found internet people to be pretty helpful about solving problems. You just need to be very careful about who you ask and how you phrase your question, otherwise the results can be a little bit like an obscene magic 8 ball. And even magic 8 ball type responses can be helpful at times, for a laugh if nothing else.

ohhhh, sorry. I'm not mad at you GTers, I'm just generally in one of those 'why does the world suck so much' moods, with a special focus on Napoli's trash issues.
