So.... COLLABORATIVE TATTOO DESIGN... Help me out here. (And let's be serious for a change, shall we?)

i have a question:
why not give the text you want to a very good tattoo artist, tell them how you would like it, and get them to draw it? (i mean, once you have verified the greek)
1. There are no tattoo parlours local to me
2. I know nothing about any of the tattoo artists at the parlours that are within a reasonable drive, and am still doing research on that
3. I'm kind of curious what other people come up with for suggestions... for all i know, someone could some up with something totally ass-kicking
*shrug*
ah. i suppose partly because i am practically related to a tattoo artist and i hear all of the horrible things they say about people who bring in designs that are almost unworkable, i automatically recommend that people find an artist they like and have them do a custom piece.
And I've been on the receiving end of a horror story before, as well.
There is nothing that says this is going to be a final product. It's more along the lines of verification, ideas, etc. It's a starting point, not an ending.
Huh. It's kind of ugly. Is it going to be that color, or is that just the preliminary?
Totally preliminary. I am not happy with those specific colours. I've already decided it shall not be done in black, though.

quoted for truth. sorry kid, thems the breaks.
I think any text you'll want to keep black so that it's legible for longer.
Right.
I already get that the current design is shite, and agree completely. What I would like to see is examples of what other people feel would be much better. (That's why the .psd file is made available above... so people can play with it.)
And, umm, i really don't want black for the text - if avoidable - simply because I want it to be legible but I don't want it to be screamingly obvious every time I wear my hair up.
Well, I'd avoid the embossing, if at all possible. I don't think it'll look right as a tattoo.

Here's a sample jpeg:

Here's a photoshop comp, with layer sets still intact:

Here's my beefs (beeves?) thus far:
It's pissing me off. The text comprising the top line of the circle should actually read "did you choose me just to prove to me", but i can't get the right when i leave "just" in there. The Greek words don't seem to set centered quite right. and actually, i'm not sure that the English text should even BE in a circle, given that it's kind of throwing down a "rubber stamp" impression. Hell, even the colours seem like they need a touch of tweaking.
The fonts are about right (Cambria is being used for the English) - this thing will be probably 50% of its current size in photoshop when done, back of the neck, essentially meant to be seen while kneeling...
And can we get AArtaud or someone of similar calibre to verify the Greek? The top word should be reading as "agape". The bottom word should be reading as "eros", upside-down.
