Little girls do not need to wear thongs!

Yah, it's pretty weird when they say ten year olds have a need for thongs.
A&F are shit anyway. I'm so glad we don't get them here in NZ
Kinda reminds me of that Adam & Andrew song 'Sluttier Younger'
Because you gotta think about it, a lot of young girls would actually buy this kind of shit, wear it with fuck all else on, and take a billion photos of themselves and put them up on MySpaz
Why is this all in bold... I BROKE TEH INTERWEBS -_-
oooh i think... maybe... i have an idea... is it better now?
Anyway, back to topic, Macauley Culkin in Igby Goes Down was kinda strange to watch him in a sexual role... I just keep thinking of him in like... My Girl and Richie Rich and Home Alone. The sweet innocent, but not too innocent kid.
I think I have a thing for him, actually...
@Rabbit, There reasoning is a 10 year old will start to care about underwear lines. Hell I don't even give a shit about an underwear lines.
@Danny, yeah mad creepy, like in the movie thirteen when there little junior thongs were showing.
Also McCaully is kinda weird looking. Like he still looks like that little kid in a way. But I've loved him as an actor in Saved, Party Monster, and he was good in Sex and Breakfast too. He was pretty much the only one who wasn't acting badly in that movie. I saw Igby Goes Down years ago, but I dont remember him being in it?
It was his brother in Igby, but I've totally wanted to do it to Macaulay since Saved.
Anyway, in reference to the article, sexualization of little girls is a very sad thing. I think that the writing on said thongs ("eye candy" and "wink wink") is even more disturbing than the fact that they are thongs.
So is this Abercrombie's attempt to prove that they can be as controversial as American Apparel?
@DP: 10-year-old boys still have cooties. It's the myspace predators they're trying to look hot for.
As consistent as that comment is with my internet creepiness, I meant it with some seriousness. The children who fall victim to the myspace predators tend to be ones who are trying on adult things, and seeking adult attention, as equals. The 10-year-old girls who want to wear thongs are the ones at the greatest risk of being targeted by a sexual predator.
@Danny, will to be fair I love trashy bad movies. I mean John Waters is an idle of mine. Of Course so are 'respectable' filmmakers like Pedro Almodovar, Tim Burton, and Scorcese. But I loved Party Monster. It was done in a very camp fashion, so bad 'over-acting' was expected. And like you said, you couldn't turn away. John Water's once described his films like a car wreck, you want to look away but you cant. I imagine this isn't everyone's cup of tea, but party monster had a dark wit about it as well.
@Xenu, yeah the perverted messages on the thongs are the creepiest part. I mean it's one thing to try on mommy's lingerie but it's another to self identify your vagina as 'eye candy' at the age of ten.
if anything, we need to teach them to NOT try to be "sexy".
i'm sick of "sexy"
"sexy" usually comes packaged with "lame"
@KMFCM I don't think sexy is usually packaged with lame.I'm all about the sexy. I just don't think it should be packaged and sold to little girls in a whorey way. I mean sexy doesn't mean thong underwear. It's an attitude. One that 10 year olds shouldn't be thinking about.
As to how I discovered it: My roommates and I were having dinner last night and drinking margaritas:) When we got on the topic of sexuality sold to young kids. My one roommate said she saw thongs for children in a store in New York. The rest of us didn't believe her, so I looked it up online.
I agree with KMFCM. Most things labelled specifically as "sexy" end up being pretty lame.
Yeah, my bad it was Kieran Culkin, still Culkin boys are hard to watch whikst fucking.
And yeah, I'm with Johnny and KMFCM, when something tries to be sexy, it usually .
Sexy's like shit, it just happens
Well I think typically sexy things can be sexy. Like lingerie or showing some cleavage. But trying too hard is never sexy, because confidence is the essence of sexy. And trying to hard means you are actually insecure.
Oh hell yeah, there are some things that are pretty much fail proof sexy. Like toe cleavage while heels. One is frigid, three i slutty, but two is sexy.
@Sum- I'm oblivious to both lingerie and cleavage. Call me crazy, but it's just not enough to do anything for me.
I was wondering tonight if there would be any company out there batshit crazy enough to hire OJ Simpson as a spokesman. At the time, I couldn't come up with any, but I believe A&F has lowered the bar.
Sum - I think if girls spent as much energy on just being decent interesting people as they did on being "sexy", I might not dislike them so much.
Granted, guys are the ones who let a girl do any god damn thing she wants if she shows them cleavage, so that's our fault.
There are equally aplenty boring, stupid guys. A great deal of them are barstars.
@KMFCM and Johnny, Well some people find intelligence and or the ability to hold a decent conversation very sexy. These can be classified as sexy qualities as well. Strong, smart women, are sexy to many men.
Sexy doesn't have to be all cleavage and such. Although, I find both things sexy. I mean just because a girl shows some cleav doesn't mean she is uninteresting or stupid.
KMFCM, I think it's unfortunate that you choose to dislike all women and judge them on what they choose to wear.
@Summer: I dunno, but KMFCM shows his misogynist colours every time the topic of women comes up.
okay.. .since everyone missed this part
I'll say it again
"Granted, guys are the ones who let a girl do any god damn thing she wants if she shows them cleavage, so that's our fault."
how's that Deftones song go? "it's so easy to talk about everything I do wrong. . . . "
No I saw that part, I also saw the part where you said you disliked all women and said they should care about more than their looks. I was trying to say most women do care about more than that, and that you judge all women in a negative light is sad.
Sum - I'm sure you did.
There's really no point in denying such things, is there?
I work at a place where I'm proven correct once an HOUR.
Eh, I'd just like to point out that K-mofo never said he "disliked all women and said they should care about more than their looks". The words "all women" never came up.
He said, specifically, that they should spend an equal amount of energy on their looks and their personas. Which to me, seems pretty fair.
He said this
Sum - I think if girls spent as much energy on just being decent interesting people as they did on being "sexy", I might not dislike them so much.
To me this means all girls. Since he said he dislikes 'girls' because of this.
Also the assumption that all women spend more time on their looks than their personality is insulting to me as a woman.
We don't all care about being pretty above all else.
*shrug*
I think both parties are have valid points, but are overexaggerating. I'm not all that interested in the outcome, to be honest... I know what I think and that's all I can speak for.
Do I work in a corporate environment? I work on TV shows. It's very jeans and t shirt, and tattoos. Why?
Why do you keep bringing up work?
when did I deny it exactly???
Johnny was the one that said "he didn't say all women". . .not me.
I work in the mail center at an insurance company.
That sounds like a not fun job. So you got a crappy job and you are full of anger against women?
I hope you have some fun stuff going on in your life. Even though I find your misogyny to be really offensive.

little girls should just wear shawls. india got it right.
