Summer reading suggestions for all.

I recommend Love and Longing in Bombay by Vikram Chandra. It's an English language series of short stories about India. It is also a novel as well, since the stories are being told by a man at a bar. The language is precise, descriptive and lush. It is a little dense and it isn't exactly an easy read, but it is a book that you can put down and pick up again and be just as engaged as you were last time you read. I highly recommend it, especially for lovers of literature. To further encourage you to pick it up, another one of the author has been considered for the Nobel prize in literature for one of his other novels.
I'm planning on starting with Leaving Atlanta by Tayari Jones, and then I'm reading Phillip Roth's I Married a Communist for my book group, where 1/2 the members are octegenarian communists.
I would highly recommend Shaft by Ernest Tidyman, which is currently keeping me amused during my commute.
Yes, it's the book of the film.
I was just thinking about you yesterday! It felt like I hadn't seen you around in ages. Then again, I sorta haven't been around much in ages, I guess...
@val: Since my school's on quarters, I'm still in school. It's hell, since I only have two weeks left, so everything is due.
@val: Also, I didn't thank you for thinking of me. Thank you! You're very sweet.
Oh, man, still being in school sucks. I'm sorry, doll. GOOD LUCK FINISHING UP!
thanks. I'll get there soon. I only have 8 more papers to write. Oh shit, I have 8 papers to write! Why am I on here?!
