I need some advice. I have some lapis lazuli beads that need better holes in them before I can use them. Any suggestions on how to go about that? Would be a bead boring tool kit work? Could I take them to a jeweler?

I'd be worried about cracking them - take them to a jeweler and get their opinion at least.
The Betty Page lookalike (and she was rocking that look, lemme tell you) at the local bead shop recommended a particular gauge of nylon cord. And lo and behold, it worked.
So now I have to decide to do with the lapis beads. I might make one into a necklace or use them as pulls for my ceiling fan. I wanted to make a cell phone charm out of them and these little silver fish, but my cell phone doesn't have an attachment point for a charm or a leash.
Boo.
