Yeah well he'll say anything to stay in. Although... is he running this year? All we hear about is Obama and Clinton.
He can't run again. But he's attacking to bring down the credibility of the democratic party to give McCain a better shot.
Bush can't run again. McCain is the Republican Party candidate. McCain used to be considered a "maverick" in the Republican Party because he would often vote against the party when *gasp* the people wanted something different from what the party was pushing.
These days he's practically Bush's lapdog, particularly about Iraq. It's rather surprising, given that in 2000, Bush's campaign torpedoed McCain's campaign by spreading rumors, accompanied by a picture of him with the Burmese orphan he had adopted, that he had an illegitimate black baby, a few days before a primary vote in South Carolina, which for all its progress on race relations still has difficulty stomaching a president with an illegitimate mixed-race child.
Even two years ago, people saw this coming, and it's just as bad of an idea as it was then. This article proves it, and has a great picture of McCain hugging Bush like a father who's trying to talk his son out of sending him to an old folks' home:

I don't think McCain stands a chance. Nobody likes Republicans and their scared old people ideas anymore. Obama is the man.

My favorite is that Bush likened Obama and other dems to Nazi sympathizers. Fucking prick
