@Art - seriously, man.
i would never thought have buying these - i dig shoes, and have gotten many a compliment on them, but they're the most expensive things, by far, i've ever put on my feet.
i had been sent out to Melrose Ave. to buy shoes for a costume for one of our projects. and this one guy grabbed me, yanked me into his store, and proceeded to hard-sell me for 30 minutes. i ended up buying nothign for the film, but there were a pair of cool sneakers that caught my eye, and i broke down and got 'em.

oh, this guy was a character, man.
i could write a little mini-essay/blog on my experience on Melrose, and with this guy.
a complete and utter douchebag.
the type of guy who says, "Hey, look, i don't need to BS you or anyone else, b/c I know my shoes are good and people like them." And then points to the Wall of Famous People's Pictures on the wall, of him with his arm around Paris Hilton, and Nicole Richie, and, like, Lorenzo Lamas.

the only reason i gave this guy more than 30 seconds of my time, honestly, was that i was desperate for boots and he had a lot of interesting stuff that might've worked for our character. but he was such an ass, it was nigh-unbearable. he actually gets incensed (and i've read other blogs, etc. about this guy) when people don't buy his stuff, like suddenly you're dirt. and i wasn't about to buy a pair or two for 700 bucks or whatever that we could not return, and then i/the company are stuck with these things...
ah, Los Angeles, man. such a trip.
