There are so many things wrong with this MLK memorial...
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/05/08/AR2008050803142.htmlWhy is it being built in China? Why is it being designed by a Chinese sculptor? Why does the artist have consultants from the University of Michigan? Why are there so many bureaucratic commissions with final approval of the project? Why does he look like he's embedded in a rock? Why does anyone think that a statue of a man who was shunned by his own government and eventually assassinated even remotely resembles that of a political leader of a totalitarian government?

That's WAY too Stalinesque to convey the image of a peacemaker. Interesting.
It is creepy, yet completely symbolic of the current status of America.

cheap labour.
