How do you respond when you are hit on?
Replies
I try to brush it off and act disinterested if I am
If I don't, I get all flirty back at them
@ Heraldic55: C'mon! Nothing is sexier than a law student.
@ El Indio: Weren't the consuchicks always flirting with you?
@law: .....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA....
Wait...
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
You, my dear, are the exception rather than the norm.
@ Lady O: It's much more fun when it's mutual.
@ Hena: Violence is not the answer!
@ centropomus: haha, nice to know that you've learned to share.
when it comes to random strangers the following applies.
I usually respond in some ridiculously violent manner.
usually I just tell someone to fuck off, if they're too close I'll push them away, if they touch me, bad news.
@ el indio: In that case, don't you have a beautiful real life girlfriend? I'm guessing she hits on you, no?
@ Heraldic55: Well, thank you. But I still stand by my statement :)
@law: well then, maybe I just haven't picked up on it. And considering what numerous girlfriends have said about my (in)ability to pick up what they're putting down, that is ENTIRELY possible.
@ Sarah: I wish I could borrow some of that assertiveness. Seriously. I just get awkward, even when they are inappropriately touchy. Well, maybe I'll say something 3 days later, if I happen to know them. But, it takes a lot for me to muster that courage.
@lawlady- If someone does the whole touch my waist to get past me thing, I peel away and get ready to fight, I'm a fucking disaster. Which might be why one of my best first dates ever included knife fighting lessons.
@ El Indio: I bet she does, but maybe you're just used to it. I flirt with my bf all of the time. Does she laugh at your jokes? Cause that counts.
i havent had sex in like...two months, so...
yeah, i feel really desireable
@lawlady: yeah. it's part of why i don't drink anymore. though people who i don't know/like who touch me when i am sober get an awful lot of snarling thrown in their direction, for sure.
If I pick up on it, I'll usually flirt back. Mostly though, I'm oblivious.
@libi- I like being aggressive when it's happening and then feel aweful afterwards. it's like crack??? maybe?
@sarah: i always feel like throwing up after i've lashed out at someone. but i'm never sure if it's because i feel bad or because of the adrenaline.
@ El Indio: Sorry there, friend. That sucks.
@ (libi): been cutting back myself these days.
I generally wind up being really rude, even if I AM interested. I don't know why. It's really like I can't help it.
Back in high school, I was totally oblivious to being hit on, because I had no experience with girls. To wit:
One time at lunch, we were sitting around talking about our research projects. Mine involved handwriting analysis, so I was explaining how that worked. This girl - one who was way out of my league - was like "Oh! You should analyze my writing!" I told her ok, I just needed half a page of handwriting.
She comes back the next day and hands me a piece of paper. "I'm sitting in geometry, I'm bored, blah blah blah, you should call me sometime my number is xxx.xxx.xxxx, well I've got to go now class is over"
The next day I came back and told her what the way she made her lowercase y's said about her. And also never called her like an idiot.
(I'm not that bad anymore, I swear!)
Depends on how attracted I am to them. And that largely depends on their approach.
The hot guy who smiled across the bar and then shyly took my hand this weekend got what he was looking for.
