Soooo... I was thinking... what's the difference between this site and livejournal, really? Except you can do less things here? What is your "team" but basically, a friends-list? What can you do here that you can't do there, or what can you do here better?

It's all in the organization. Most sites are fairly similar in functionality.
It is a blogging site, but it's kind of the same: you have your friends list, you write something for them, they comment on it. YOu read what they write and you comment.
I can shoot lasers here. From my eyebrows.
Never could do that on LJ. Pity.
Honestly though.... the difference between here and "there" is that I can keep in touch with more people here. I tend to write really personal stuff on LJ that I don't even want some of my good IRL friends seeing/knowing. If one of them were to find my page on this site, I probably wouldn't mind so much because the chances of them finding something they didn't already know are pretty slim.
Oh, I agree that LJ is more personal... I tend to think of this site and consu as being a fun place for the superficial-me. But then again, I use various filters on LJ anyway for the personal and non-personal posts, depending on who I want to read them.
Yeah, but everyone here's on lj anyway. LJ just has a bigger base to sift through.
I think a lot of my flist has both indie cred and mac snobs, although mixed up with a lot of glam and diy.

isn't live journal a blogging site?
