Do eyeglasses get you going?

OMFG you guys. I was checking my Flickr stats (did you know they do like a whole referrer report on all of your photos, if you ask for it? Sweet), and my views had enormously spiked, thanks to what is just a stupid photo demonstrating my new glasses. And you've seen it! It's nothing special! It's my Go Team avatar!

And I followed the referrer link -- nervously, because if people are clicking on something to get to your website or photo, it's invariably in the context of Something Bad -- and initially I was relieved because, OK, it's just a thread linking to photos of girls in glasses.

But it isn't as cute as I'm making it sound; they're talking about prescription strengths, too, and, uh. OK, I like glasses, I like people who wear glasses, and I quite possibly even avoid people who don't wear glasses, etc. But I don't think I could have imagined this kind of fetishism, and I mean, this is ME talking, I can pretty much dream up anything.

Anyway. I set the photo back to friends-n-family, all MCI-style.

"Maybe the flavor DOES last too long...?"

You know those ads for Stride gum? The ones that imply that the long-lasting flavor of an otherwise disposable product is enough to do a whole corporation in? Tonight I was thinking that maybe those commercials signalled the beginning of this recession.

Someone remind me when the stock market fell.

My car REAPPEARED

Some of you might know that, almost two years ago, my car was stolen. It turned out ok, I guess -- insurance compensated me, but that means the car now belongs to my insurance company -- and even though thinking about my car always makes me sad, since it's the car I'd driven since I was 15, I guess I'd thought that was the end of it.

But today, we got a call from a tow company, and my car was found by a highway patrolman and was subsequently towed off the street. Which is awesome. A friend of mine is looking for the spare key so's he can check the car out in the morning at the tow lot (he knows what the car used to look like, and he's going to compare).

My best friend Cass has a theory that is actually pretty likely: the car was probably stolen and sold, and some poor asshole probably spent all day looking for his towed car.

Oh my god, my parents. I just hit the fridge looking for some grub -- which, with reason, I seldom do at their house -- and *everything* was dated 2006. So then I checked all the salad dressings, and they are all from 2005! Then, once I'd found anything edible (turkey, mustard), I was scared to put it back in the fridge, for fear the good food could catch whatever disease the nasty food has been cultivating. I'm going to clean the fridge out in the morning I GUESS, but I am NOT happy about this.

Right now I'm in my childhood room, and I found my totally awesome copy of Girl Talk: A Game of Truth or Dare. I uploaded these photos for Adam, but I thought everyone should see how incredible this board game was/is.

P.S. Oh, sweet, I guess I haven't been here in awhile: wysiwyg!
