In 1819 John Polidori wrote what is possibly the first piece of modern literary vampire fiction. It concerned a distant, cold, pale, although technically in "form and outline were beautiful" aristocrat who seemed to shun vice and have no interest in women, and as a result of which of course women flocked to him. The main character, though male, is so totally Bella.

I actually quite like the appellation "Boring Girls' Club." It makes me think of prim librarian-type girls with oversized lenses perched on their noses sitting around an attic knitting doilies and holding forth overly elaborate analyses on the meter scheme of "Aurora Leigh," and if I could either knit or care much about "Aurora Leigh," I'd be all over that!
