Since I'll be gone for the next few days, please ponder over this:

Upon my great return, I expect a 25 page paper using post-feminist deconstructionist theory to interpert and understand this great work by the man who plays Tubbs in Miami Vice and how it relates to the Weimar Republic' and San Francisco's gentrification of space which has resulted in the asphysixation of the expression of the female gender as as a social construct. Go!

Dead Pan Humor and PC Discrimination

Random person:
"Yeah, I don't think I can date someone who is Republican"

Group of friends:
Nodding in agreement

Me:
"I know, I feel the same way about Muslim chicks too."

Same group of friends:
Dead silence

Is dead pan humor and biting mockery just lost on people these days?

You're All Perverts. All of You. Perverts who hate Cupcakes.

According to Google, more people search about Poop than Cupcakes:

Blue = Poop, Red = Cupcakes.

Here's the link:

The Debate: Nothing on China? Wasn't Foreign Policy the theme?

So the debate was mostly boring as usual, since Obama and McCain made no gaffes per se.

But what about a question on China?

No discussions on how we align ourselves with the new powers in China, India, Brazil and Russia's resurgence. Instead, we're spending energy mocking Palin to the Obama choir and Obama keeps on talking about how he was originally opposed to a war that is fait accompli.

This time, it's Ukraine's Eurovision 2008 entry: "Shady Lady" by Ani Lorak.

"Valentine's Day is a great for picking up lonely girls at bars" and other inappropriate advice.

So what other inappropriate advice is out there? On any topic, just not love/sex related.

Moments where you sound like (are a) douchebag? Here's mine...

Douchbag Moment #256,512,102.4

Me on the phone at the office today: "Hello there, I'm calling regarding my Financial Times subscription. Can you please ask delivery to leave the paper by the apartment building door? My building's concierge gets annoyed of having to drop off the paper at my door. Thanks"

Co-worker via IM: "Pardon me sir, do you have any Grey Poupon? Should I send my butler to talk to your butler?"

Is there a douchebag equivalent to buying "Carbon Credits"? Can I buy a few? Posted 34 days ago | 14 comments

Grand Ma Photos: I dont think I have any :(

So, I realized that I dont think I have photos of either of my grand mothers, both who passed away recently in opposite sides of the world. I'll describe them instead.

Grandmother from Dad Side:

A tiny, strong willed Southern woman, who had a think Alabamian drawl. I have to admit I never liked her cooking as a kid, which consisted of fried catfish, collard greens, meat loaf and cornbread.

She and I got into constant fights about anything, but I'd like to think she appreciated my strong sense of self and stubborness, which is something she was known for herself. She was known to be bossy and I didnt mind being bossy right back.

Grandmother from Mom Side:

She was a woman who live through a lot. She had 20 kids - with only 10 living past being infants - and survived the Japanese occupation of Indonesia, where many of my relatives were killed. She also endured through Indonesia's founding years, when the Communist tried to kill my grandfather.

Due to the language barrier, I never got to know her well. Yet, for me she always evokes the image of a gentle, humble, dedicated and Christian mother. She died of some unknown yet long horrible sickness, which still makes me sad to this day.
